I have created a YouTube video that offers a few tips on how students can improve their choice of words. Has your professor ever written "word choice" on one of your papers? Often, second language students do not know which words Anglophones naturally string together. This video seeks to help learners improve their chances of placing words together naturally.
The video shows three methods of improving word choice, as follows:
- Use a "Collocations" Dictionary;
- Borrowing from native speakers; and
- Using an effective translation strategy.
